This Privacy Policy explains how Rémy Vilna (trading as Clover Pets) ("Clover Pets", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our website (the "Site") or make a purchase from us.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Rémy Vilna (trading as Clover Pets) is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.

Depending on how you interact with the Site, we may collect:

  • Payment-related data — Clover Pets does not directly collect or store your full card details. Payments are processed by Shopify's checkout system (Shopify Payments), which collects payment data directly under its own privacy terms.
  • Marketing data — your email address and order history, where you have opted in to receive marketing emails, processed through our email marketing platform (Klaviyo).
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and on-site behaviour, collected via cookies and similar technologies, including through Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads.
  • Communications data — any information you send us by email, including for customer service, order issues, or rights requests.

3. How and Why We Use Your Data (Purposes and Legal Bases)

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data only with the service providers who need it to operate our store, and only to the extent necessary:

  • Shopify Inc. — provides the e-commerce platform, checkout, payment processing infrastructure, and hosting for our Site. Shopify processes order, contact, and payment-related data as our data processor (and, for certain payment and platform functions, as an independent controller under its own terms).
  • Klaviyo — our email marketing platform. We share your email address, name, and order history with Klaviyo so we can send you marketing emails if you have opted in, and relevant transactional communications.
  • Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics 4) — used for website analytics and online advertising, including remarketing to past visitors. Google processes cookie identifiers and usage/technical data on our behalf and, for advertising features, may also act as an independent controller under its own terms.
  • CJ Dropshipping and other fulfillment/logistics partners — receive the minimum data necessary (name, delivery address, order contents) to dispatch and deliver your order from EU or international warehouses.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. International Data Transfers

Clover Pets is based in and sells into the EU/EEA. However, some of our service providers (including Google, and potentially Klaviyo depending on their infrastructure) may process personal data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States.

Where this occurs, we rely on the safeguards recognised under GDPR Chapter V to ensure your data remains protected, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions, or equivalent approved transfer mechanisms implemented by our processors. 6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Order and transaction records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law (generally at least 6 years).
  • Marketing data (e.g. your email in Klaviyo) is retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which it is deleted or suppressed within a reasonable period.
  • Analytics and advertising cookie data is retained according to the retention settings of Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, generally for periods set by Google's default configuration unless we configure shorter retention.
  • Customer service correspondence is retained for a reasonable period to handle any follow-up queries, warranty claims, or disputes.

7. Cookies

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies, grouped into the following categories:

  • Essential/strictly necessary cookies — required for core Site functionality (e.g. shopping cart, checkout, security). These do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies — used via Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising/remarketing cookies — used via Google Ads to measure ad performance and show relevant ads to past visitors on other sites.
